What does a free play session look like in RM

Here in RM, we like to let the kids do some free play. This means that they are free to flow between stations and it is a wonderful way of gauging the interests of different students. It also gives us a chance to have some social time with the kids and do one on one work with them. Here are some snapshots of free play action in RM.

We love going through Mr.Moo's adventures in the reading corner.

We often try to be independent in the art area.

Counting ladybugs to match the number on the leaves.

We help each other and work together at the stations.

We don't always do the same activities, we like to work alone too.

We often challenge ourselves at the challenge yourself station.

The blending line is a fun way to try out new words.

We love building blocks with our faces on them!

Role playing is very popular in RM :)

We know how to share space, toys and books.

Sometimes, it's important to take some time to ourselves and try new things on our own too.

But we have learnt that some games cannot be played alone, so we have learnt how to play together and come up with creative new ideas!

During free play sessions, we learn how to apply our knowledge into play. But we also learn how to work together, share space and look after each other :)
