Term 2 Week 2 Highlights!

Here are some highlights from this week!

Literacy

We reviewed 'j' and 'i' letter formation.

We reviewed these sounds by doing caterpillar jumps later in the week :)

We tried blending -at words such as 'cat', 'mat', 'rat' and 'fat'

We reviwed our Unit 1 camera words by going on a word hunt - I go to the no he

We covered the sound 'sh' and filled in blanks in words such as 'shop' 'fish' and 'ship'

Numeracy

We revisited shapes this week. We reviewed our 2D shapes and learnt the difference between 2D and 3D.

Geo: I make a circle train track!

 How many circles are there?
Ohm: "Two"

 "Five circles"

"I have three"

 "I have nine!"

Later in the week, we switched to 3D shapes and learnt the following: sphere, cone, pyramid, prism, cube and cyclinder. Then we search for these shapes in our classroom items.

Inquiry

We tapped into our emotions last week and discussed feeling associated with peace. This week we talked about what colours make us feel calm, relaxed and peaceful. The idea behind this is to be aware of how our environments can affect our sense of peace.

Next we will explore how other environmental factors such as weather can affect our feeling of peace. Then broaden this to how we can cope with emotional difficulties.
