Egypt oh Egypt!

We had such a fun week learning all about EGYPT!!

Mummy Myshi coming at you!!!

Watch out! Here comes Mummy Rei!!

Ohm took a serious turn and wanted to count the bricks on his pyramid. 

Chloe joined Ohm later... her pyramid had 6 bricks. 

We made our passports so that we could go travelling on Friday. We learnt why people need passports and what a signature is. 

Kairi nailed it with her signature! 

uh oh! Here comes that mummy again! 

Here comes another one!

Taechou and Markie decided to build pyramids. 

Well done, Chloe. She has gotten really fast at writing her name! 

Ohm loves his pyramid numbers... 

Nina filled in the blanks at the bottom, which was a bit complex. So well done, Nina! 

At the end of the week, we went through all our photos and talked about what we remember. Here are some of the comments. 

Chay: "making my face picture"

Geo: "squeeze a picture"

We learnt how to be well balanced. 

 Chay: "Carrots because I want strong"

Rei "I eating fruit.... because I like fruit"

 James : "I eat carrot... because I be stronger"

 Kairi: "I eat vegetable because it's well balanced"

 Taechou: "Eat fruit... strong"

We then learnt how to write in ancient Egyptian writing. First we made the paper look ancient by coffee staining it. 

Shafat: "We making coffee... because paper make brown"

We also made some cool necklaces. 

 Rolly: "We making symmetrical ... same on both side"

We danced like Egyptians! 

 Aly: "I dancing"

 James: "walk like an Egyptian"

 Ohm: "I walk like gyptian!"

 Rei: "I dancing... like Egyptian"

 Geo: "we dancing together"

 Kairi: "Dancing like a Egyptian"

 Shafat: "Dancing like Egyptian"

Miss.Myshi: "Kids what are we doing in these photos? Who can remember"

Aly: "Here we are finding patterns on the leaf" 

Rei: "We found pattern on leaf... and same side again and again"

 Rolly was very proud of her homework, so we stuck it on our wall. 

 The girls did fantastic at writing their names with Egyptian Hieroglyphs. You will get to see this in their Learner Journals next term :)  

 

We recapped all the learner profiles that we have learnt so far: inquirers, caring, thinkers, principled and well balanced this week. 

The boys did very well at working together to make one awesome pyramid palace!

We are very excited for our international day tomorrow. Thank you for all your support, parents.
